Sexual Health Educator
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Position start dates are anticipated to be July 10,2023
NCPPC is seeking qualified candidates for multiple Sexual Health Educator positions based primarily in Jefferson and Southern St. Lawrence counties. These full-time positions are responsible for the implementation of a teen pregnancy prevention program in accordance with stated Department of Health goals and objectives.
Educators will provide school-based and some community-based comprehensive sexual education programming using evidence-based curricula; maintain open and consistent communication with school district staff; facilitate community relations including public/parenting education, outreach and marketing initiatives to raise community awareness of adolescent issues including sexual health and well-being; identify at risk populations and issues related to service delivery; and work with special populations including military dependents, LGBTQ youth, and high need populations. Programming topics include reproductive anatomy, HIV and STI transmission and prevention, pregnancy and contraception, healthy relationships, communication, puberty, abstinence, and other related subjects.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (eg., community health, education, human services) and experience in health education, particularly sexual health education, or youth work.
- Knowledge of sexual health, adolescent development and issues, community systems and services, and youth development/assets model concepts.
- Skill set required to work positively with youth and young adults both as individuals and in groups; provide adolescent sexual health programs at Middle and High School levels.
- Ability and strong desire to work with diverse socio-economic populations.
- Strong written, personal, and electronic communication and public speaking skills.
- Strong computer literacy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Active and valid driver's license allowing you to drive in New York State.
- Personal vehicle with an active auto insurance policy to conduct employment duties.
- Ability to pass a background check that does not prohibit you from working in a school system or with children.
