Since 1988, the North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council, Inc. (NCPPC) has been providing services in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties of Northern New York. NCPPC is dedicated to strengthening maternal and family health by identifying service needs and improving access to care through community collaboration, education, and referral for the well-being of every woman, every child, every family. NCPPC provides a range of services including maternal and infant health home visiting programs, health insurance enrollment, and youth services.

Our Story
July 1988
NCPPC was incorporated as one of seven new programs funded by New York State’s Comprehensive Prenatal/Perinatal Network initiative. We became one of only two programs with a rural service area in the state.
Established main office in Watertown, NY.
1989
Received first Comprehensive Prenatal/Perinatal Services Network grant of $109,000.
1990’s
Funding to expand services to include adolescent pregnancy prevention and insurance programs for children was received.
2000’s
Awarded funding to expand insurance programs to adults and families.
Established the Gouverneur Activity and Learning Center, our first permanent office location in St. Lawrence County.
Implemented Food Sense Program in Gouverneur.

NCPPC 20th Anniversary Celebration:
Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators in recognition of NCPPC’s 20th Anniversary proclaimed the day as North Country Prenatal Perinatal Council Day.
Darrel J. Aubertine, New York State Senator issued a Proclamation honoring the North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council, Inc. on the occasion of its 20th Anniversary.
2010’s
Granted dollars to establish a Community Health Advocate Program and to provide Nutrition Outreach and Education.
Official Cribs for Kids Partner.
Partnered with two Preforming Provider Systems on Delivery System Reform Incentive projects.
Established Healthy Families Jefferson County through Office of Children and Families funding.
Opened a satellite office in Lewis County.
Received Dyson Foundation funding for YEAH! Program in Lowville.CAPP and CAPP Extension funding from DOH.
Funded for Maternal and Infant Community Health Collaborative.
2014
Honored as Small Nonprofit Business of the Year by the Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce.
