Sexual Health Educator

The North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council is seeking qualified candidates for a Sexual Health Educator position. This full-time position is responsible for implementation of a teen pregnancy prevention program in accordance with stated goals and objectives. The Educator provides for school based and some community comprehensive sexual education components; facilitates community relations including public education, outreach and marketing initiatives to raise community awareness of adolescent issues including pregnancy; identifies at risk populations and issues related to service delivery; and works with special populations including military dependents, LGBTQ youth, and high need populations. Candidates must have knowledge of sexual health, adolescent development and issues, community systems and services, and youth development/assets model concepts. Candidates must possess the skill set required to work positively with youth and young adults both as individuals and in groups; provide adolescent sexual health programs at Middle and High School levels; and, demonstrate strong written, personal and electronic communication and public speaking skills.

To be considered, candidates must possess BA/BS in a related field (ex., community health, education, human services) and experience in health education, particularly sexual health education, and/or youth work. Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required.

Administrative Assistant

The North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council is seeking candidates for the Administrative Assistant position.  Administrative Assistant to work full-time (40 hrs/wk) providing administrative support for 5 programs and the Executive Director. Duties include project management; database management; website maintenance; administrative support for E.D., staff members, and board of directors; appointment scheduling; production of outreach materials and newsletters; technical writing to assist with grants and budgets; other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 2 plus years in administrative position with strong computer skills including Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook); organized with proven ability to multitask; excellent customer service, written and verbal skills. Associates degree and knowledge of Adobe software (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) highly desired, but not required.

Community Health Worker/Per Diem – 35 to 50 hours per month

The North Country Prenatal Perinatal Council, Inc. is seeking Community Health Workers to improve population health in targeted communities across Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. CHWs will coordinate direct services and provide healthy lifestyles support to individuals with chronic health issues or in need of additional help to avoid re-hospitalization or emergency room use.  Supports may include: assistance with developing a wellness plan, education, assessment of barriers to healthy living, access to health insurance and insurance literacy. Principal responsibilities include participant recruitment, home visits promoting wellness, referral to community resources and programs, coaching, and other individualized supports. Qualifications include: high school diploma or equivalent, regard for patient privacy, reliable transportation, good communication skills, experience with data management and a flexible schedule.  Bilingual or American Sign Language is preferred.
